What this site is
Litrewise shows petrol and diesel prices published by fuel retailers through the government's Fuel Finder service. It is a free information service. It is not run by, or connected to, the government, the Fuel Finder service or any fuel retailer, and it does not sell fuel.
Prices can be out of date or wrong
- Prices are shown as the retailer published them, with the time of the last update. Retailers can change a price at any time, and what you pay at the pump may be different.
- Some prices are old or contain mistakes. We mark prices that look like errors ("unusual") and prices that haven't been updated for more than 30 days ("out of date"), but we cannot check every price.
- Opening hours are the usual hours supplied by retailers and may not reflect bank holidays or temporary changes. Check before you travel.
- If you spot a wrong price, please report it to Fuel Finder.
Savings and other figures are estimates
"Saves" figures compare a station with the nearest one for a full tank, after an estimate of the cost of the extra drive, using the tank size and fuel economy you set. Distances are in a straight line, not by road, and postcode searches use the centre of the postcode district. Averages and trends are calculated from the prices we have and are for general guidance only.
No advice, no guarantee
The information on this site is for general information only. We do not guarantee that it is accurate, complete or up to date, or that the site will always be available. You are responsible for decisions you make using it. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud. Subject to that, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or from relying on the information on it.
Neutral by design
We do not promote, rank for payment or hide any fuel retailer. Stations are ordered by the price or distance you choose. If we show advertising or affiliate links in future, they will be labelled and kept separate from price results.
Links and other services
The site links to and uses services run by others (for example maps and directions). We are not responsible for their content or availability, and their own terms apply.
Our content and data
Price and station data is public sector information used under the Open Government Licence v3.0. Place names are from GeoNames (CC BY 4.0) and map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors. The design, text and code of this site belong to its owner. Please don't copy the site or scrape it in bulk; if you want fuel price data, get it from the Fuel Finder service directly.
Changes and law
We may change these terms and will update the date above. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can hear disputes, except where the law gives you other rights.
